Welcome and thank you for your interest in BG Powerhouse’s annual Injury Prevention Seminar Series!! Below you will find a brief description of each series along with pricing and dates. This series was created to help everyone with anything from daily aches and pains to post surgery/post rehab health. The information shared comes from two coaches with years of experience in the field of strength and conditioning, massage therapy, and bodywork; working not only with athletes but blue and white collar workers as well. So, if you are scrolling through and you think of someone who needs this, please share! No one is too old or too young to start a regimen for stronger, healthier, pain-free  movement. Session One in our Injury Prevention Series will be focused on the upper body. This series is for everyone! Athletes and desk jockeys alike!  We will discuss common injuries from fingers and wrists to neck, pecs and lats. Our goal in the series is to make sure you know how to assess and address your movement so that we can AVOID injury, missed training sessions, and hopefully even surgery! 

Brief schedule: 

  • Discussion of participants’ current pains or history of injuries relevant to the series

  • Where are you now: prehab or rehab

  • Tension vs. position and developing better Mobility

  • When/why/how to stretch

  • Understanding of the nervous system: Compensation, tightness, weakness, and the importance of the NS in prehab/rehab

  • Threshold training 

  • Understanding grip and its role in big ranges of motion (ROM)

  • Understanding torque chains and how to train them appropriately

  • Building a training program for the future you

Yes, there will be a lecture, bring a pen and paper! We will also assess participants and be hands-on to make sure you walk away with a good understanding of YOUR body and individual needs. Share with your friends and come join us May 14th at 12pm to start a healthier journey!
