Meet The Coaches
Owner
Stephen Burba - BS, CSCS, USAW, AIC, FMS, RPR L2
My name is Stephen Burba and I have been a strength and field performance coach for over 10 years now. My passion for coaching developed in High School where my Strength Coach not only taught me how to train, but how to be a good person as well. I learned at this early age that training, regardless of sport, was a tool unmatched for learning how to endure, overcome, motivate, sympathize, empathize, be humble, and honestly, live. The kids that surrounded me then, I still see their personalities and character traits in others. Those with rough upbringings. Those with everything to lose. Those who want to be more social, more physical, more...everything. I have watched kids begin a season with little to no friends, no confidence or self esteem, finish their season with a new family, self worth, and a drive to succeed unseen elsewhere; myself being one of these kids.
I have taken this tool I discovered with this overwhelming passion to use it and have yet to stop trying to develop it. I went to WKU for my BS in Exercise Science and a minor in nutrition. During this time I personally trained various populations and shadowed under some great coaches who felt I had what it took to lead and instruct. This allowed me to head a lot of their programs, which at that time was priceless experience. Once I graduated in 2015, I continued my pursuit of knowledge through the NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist program, USA Weightlifting’s Advanced Sports Performance Coach program, the Functional Movement Screening and Functional Fitness Training with Correctives at the Cooper Institute in Texas and the Reflexive Performance Reset breathing and nervous system courses.
Of course during that time and to this day I am trying to master my craft. I opened Bowling Green Powerhouse to sharpen this tool of training and coaching. Making it my own way and trying to change the life of every person I get the honor of meeting. I wholeheartedly believe that through training you can discover your TRUE self and become who you were meant to be whether that is a successful entrepreneur, a non-stop bad-ass parent, a student athlete graduating MVP and top of their class; the list goes on. There is a better, stronger, more driven and capable “you” in there, and I want to help people discover it.

Bryan Long - Personal Trainer
Bryan Long is an Army veteran, personal trainer, powerlifter, and ballroom dancer born and raised in Bowling Green.
My background in fitness began during my service as a Medic in the 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, KS and my passion for growth and self improvement took off from there. In 2021 I began ballroom dancing, which quickly evolved into theatre arts performance. The strength and technique required in my performances drove me to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of. My mission is to assist lifters of all levels reach their health and aesthetic goals, and provide dancers and other non-traditional athletes with the tools to excel above their peers. I hope to introduce weightlifting and the benefits of Strongfit principles to a wide variety of athletes and performers. A long term goal of mine is to work with the local Special Olympics in restarting their powerlifting program. In my free time I read everything from fantasy novels to psychology studies, with the occasional rewatch of the Office or Game of Thrones sprinkled in.
